The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, situated on the banks of the Scioto River in Northwest Columbus, is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife. Exhibits feature wildlife from land and water that originate from all corners of the world, including rare and endangered species. The zoo offers many educational programs and special events throughout the year; it is open 365 days a year and is home to the famous zoologist Jack Hanna.
